The Big Sky is a production company based in London, Shoreditch. Founded in 2010 by Guy Campbell and brothers Jack & Ben Wylson, the company was birthed out of a collective desire to explore the earth's vast horizon in search of stories to tell. With a recent shift towards commercial, branded and social content, they specialise in travel, fashion, lifestyle, product and corporate events. Their projects span from short long form documentaries to short form promotional advertising. Their clients include ITV, BBC Earth, Barclays, Bentley, Mercedes, Hyundai, United Air, Microsoft, GQ, Harrods, L'Oreal, Rimmel, River Island, Fenty Beauty, Swarovski, Next, M&S, Superdrug, Vanity Fair, WIRED and many more.
In 2021, I began a junior content producer apprenticeship with The Big Sky, through BCE (Big Creative Education) after graduating from the University of Greenwich. My role required me to assist with pre-production planning, shooting secondary B Camera/B-roll/BTS and editing additional content to promote the company on socials.
My previous freelance experience within multiple parts of the video production workflows enabled me to contribute within a team dynamic. This allowed me to better my technical understanding of other roles through communication, observing each role's interlocking skills and demonstrating my transferable skills between departments. Eventually, I progressed into becoming a primary A camera operator for larger budget projects. During my employment, I managed to develop my skills utilising from a Sony A7siii, to the Sony FS7, Black Magic Pocket 6K Pro and finally the RED Gemini 5K.
